In a heartfelt social media statement, Jamie Roy’s family informed followers that he passed away yesterday, according to The Sun. the 33-year-old singer was well-liked in Ibiza, where he spent many years performing his songs.
Over the years, he has also had his remixes played on BBC Radio 1 to the joy of his followers. according to a blog, Jamie got his start in the music business by organising raves in Dumfries, Scotland, where he also worked as a plumber. he later resigned to focus solely on his music and was presented with a residency opportunity in Ibiza, Spain, in 2015.
He hosted a residency at his Dance Or Die concerts for Grammy-nominated producer Nic Fanciulli four years later.
After the coronavirus pandemic, Jamie agreed to a multi-album, international record deal with Ultra Records. days before he announced the release of Let Us Sing, his “biggest single,” with one of “the biggest producers on planet,” Jamie passed away.
He announced the joyful news earlier this month, tagging Sony Music and Ultra Records in the post, telling followers he couldn’t wait for them to hear it after putting it together under lockdown.
In a devastating statement on his Facebook page, his family said they were “absolutely heartbroken”.
They wrote: “Jamie passed away yesterday.
“Jamie was a much loved and talented son, brother, nephew and uncle and loved by his many friends and colleagues both within the music industry and beyond that.
“We are all absolutely heartbroken.”
Newcastle DJ Patrick Topping has lead tributes online as he posted “Gutted to hear of the passing of Jamie Roy, such a sound lad”.
Grammy Nominated DJ duo CamelPhat also wrote: “RIP JAMIE ROY, One of the good guys in this crazy industry.
