Apple iPad Pro OLED Display Drivers will Only be Supplied by Samsung

Apple is working on six additional iPad models. The iPad Pros in sizes 11 and 12.9 inches are among them. The tech behemoth is rumored to carry both tablets with OLED screens, and Samsung Display is one of the two suppliers of OLED panels for those models (the other supplier being LG Display).

A recent source claims that the display driver integrated circuit (DDI) for the forthcoming 12.9- and 11-inch iPad Pro models will be supplied exclusively by Samsung’s System LSI. According to the article, Apple will employ Samsung’s DDIs even for models sporting LG Display OLED display panels.

Apple typically sources a product’s component from several manufacturers in order to control unit prices and ensure a consistent supply. But in this instance, the company is breaking with the policy since, according to reports, Samsung’s DDIs are superior to those of other businesses.

In the coming weeks, Apple is anticipated to unveil the lineup of iPad Pro models for the upcoming generation. In addition to OLED screens, it is anticipated to have a revised layout, the M3 chipset, better camera configuration, and wireless charging via MagSafe. A revamped Magic Keyboard for the two tablets is anticipated to be released by the firm as well.
