Google Photos Introduces Smarter Video Editing Tools for Users

Google is releasing a new suite of video editing tools for Google Photos, making it easier for users to create polished highlight reels right from their phones. The enhancements, detailed in a press release, build on the app’s current highlight video feature and give Android and iOS users more creative power.

According to Google, one of the most significant changes is the release of video templates for Android. These pre-built forms include soundtrack-synchronized music, text, and pace. Users may just select a template and clips, and Google Photos will instantly create a shareable video.

The company is also launching a redesigned video editor for Android and iOS. The upgrade includes a quicker interface, a global timeline for multi-clip editing, and an adaptable canvas to make reordering and refining shots easier. The idea, according to the press release, is to streamline the experience so that producers may spend more time creating movies rather than navigating menus.

Additional additions include the ability to use soundtracks from Google’s built-in music library, as well as custom text overlays for Android with additional fonts, colors, and backdrop options for more expressive storytelling. Android users will also benefit from improved single-clip editing, as the upgraded editor is now the default tool for making rapid changes or adding music and text to individual movies.

According to Google, all of the features are either now available or will be accessible soon.
