Vivo will introduce the Vivo X Fold 5, their next foldable smartphone, in China on June 25 at 7:00 p.m. This handset is making headlines for a different reason than most foldable smartphones, which focus on performance and design: compatibility with Apple products. It’s anticipated that the X Fold 5 will enable iCloud, iPhone text messaging, Mac screen extension, and Apple Watch integration for the first time on Android.

Vivo X Fold 5 Features (Expected)

Vivo X Fold 5 will come with features that are optimized to function well with Apple products. Vivo’s health app will allow users to track health statistics, receive notifications on their Apple Watch, and even access iCloud files straight from their phone.

With support for Apple Watch capabilities, the Vivo X Fold 5 suggests a big collaboration with Apple. Boxiao reportedly said that the Vivo X Fold 5 will let customers to receive call and message notifications directly on the phone via their Apple Watch.

This implies that users can maintain connectivity even when their iPhone is not in close proximity. Similar to an iPhone or Mac, the phone will also provide direct access to iCloud, which will make managing and viewing files simple.

Furthermore, Vivo might make it possible for MacBooks to use the X Fold 5 as a second screen. When working on bigger projects or multitasking, this could be helpful.

In terms of design and specifications, the next folding gadget is expected to weigh just 209 grams and have a thickness of about 4.3mm, making it lighter and slimmer than the X Fold 3.

The Vivo X Fold 5 will have cutting-edge display technology with 8T LTPO panels on the cover and primary screens that can reach 4,500 nits of brightness.

It is anticipated that the smartphone would also have two 32-megapixel front cameras and a triple 50-megapixel rear camera array. The Vivo X Fold 5 will have a 6,000mAh battery that supports 30W wireless and 90W wired charging, and it will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
