2026 BMW M2 CS Debuts with 523 Horsepower and No Manual Gearbox

2026 BMW M2 CS a performance-oriented version of the small M vehicle series, has been introduced worldwide. In addition to being 30 kg lighter than the original M2, the more aggressive version of BMW’s compact M coupe has increased power output from 473 horsepower and 600 Nm to 523 horsepower and 650 Nm, which is an increase of 50 horsepower and 50 Nm. But unlike the standard M2, the M2 CS only comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox; consumers cannot choose a manual gearbox.
2026 BMW M2 CS: Specifications
A highly modified 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine from BMW powers the M2 CS. It produces a strong 523 horsepower and 649 Nm of torque, which are significant improvements over the production of the basic M2. The M2 CS is one of the fastest two-door BMWs on the market because to this power boost, which enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 188 mph.

CFRP is also used in the center console of the cabin, which also has lighter M Carbon bucket seats. The normal M2’s fundamental cabin design is still present, along with a 14.9-inch center touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Dual-zone climate control, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, and even a heads-up display tailored to the M are standard features.
2026 BMW M2 CS: Design
The 2026 M2 CS’s many carbon-fiber components fulfill the CS badge’s primary characteristic of mass reduction without compromising structure. Among the main features are a distinctive ducktail rear spoiler integrated into a carbon-fiber trunk lid, light alloy forged wheels, and a feral-looking design that declares its track credentials.
As standard equipment, BMW has installed race-inspired carbon bucket seats, continuing the carbon theme inside. Even the manual version of the standard M2 is heavier than this, at 3,770 pounds total.
2026 BMW M2 CS: Chassis
BMW has improved control, accuracy, and driver involvement by fine-tuning every aspect of the M2 CS. For improved handling qualities, the chassis is equipped with recalibrated adaptive dampers and firmer springs. For more reliable high-speed performance, BMW M engineers have also improved the electronically controlled limited-slip differential, traction and stability control systems, and ABS.
In keeping with CS history, the car is only available with BMW’s eight-speed automatic gearbox; a manual gearbox is not an option. However, the vehicle’s responsiveness and incredibly fast shifts more than make up for its lack of a stick shift.
BMW provides optional carbon-ceramic brakes, which further reduce unsprung weight and improve braking endurance, for individuals looking for optimal performance at an extra expense.
