Overcoming sexual trauma with Jaiya
Sexual abuse, especially of women, is a very serious public health problem in the world. According to data from the World Health Organization, one in three women have suffered from this type of aggression. Suffering often lives in silence, generates traumas and wounds that remain for life, so it is essential that spaces for therapy and rehabilitation are available to those who need them.
The story of Jaiya, a somatic sex educator, founder of the Erotic Blueprints company, is like so many others: as a child she was repeatedly sexually abused, causing her a trauma that darkened her life every day. Being true to her entrepreneurial and exploratory spirit, she looked for a way to improve herself and “reclaim her sexuality back”. For Jaiya, the full control of her body should belong to herself and recovering it became her main mission.
Throughout adolescence, she was part of the fire team in her native Cincinnati, forging a fighting spirit; in addition to this, she opened a new age bookstore. Later, she studied theater arts and trained as an opera singer at Wright State University, earning her BA from her. Although it is true that she carried a great weight on top of her, she was gradually finding strength and gaining courage to look for a way out.
Jaiya began studying Tantric Arts precisely to learn more about her sexuality and reached the rank of Master Level Instructor and Course Leader. Later, she dabbled in Kink, BDSM, sexual biology, erotica and pornography performance until she fully understood the subject, which helped her overcome her trauma.
Today, Jaiya makes all her experience and knowledge available in the Erotic Blueprints, which has become a space of escape, recognition, reconstruction and healing for hundreds of people, men and women, not only from trauma caused by sexual abuse, but also by marital arguments saving even couples from imminent divorces.
Undoubtedly, the traumas generated by sexual abuse are a problem that must be fought at the root. The world’s mission must be to reduce the number of victims to zero. However, it is comforting to know that there is a possibility of healing for those who have suffered this and that they will not have to live their pain in silence their entire lives.
