Xpeng Launches X9 Electric MPV on Global Markets

Highly modified 2025 X9 electric MPV from Xpeng was formally introduced after a pre-sale period that started on April 8. The official launch price remains at 359,800 yuan (49,900 USD), even though the pre-sale began at 399,800 yuan (55,200 USD), representing a 40,000 yuan (5,300 USD) increase over the 2024 model’s beginning price.

The seven-seat X9 was officially unveiled by the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer at a ceremony in Hong Kong. This was the first time the company had a product launch event outside of the Chinese mainland.

Similar to its predecessor, the 2025 X9’s starting price in the Chinese mainland is RMB 359,800 ($49,190), however it is less than the RMB 399,800 pre-sales pricing that was revealed on April 8.

According to He Xiaopeng, the CEO and chairman of Xpeng, the X9 MPV would be introduced in Europe in the second half of 2025.

The first MPV with a right-hand drive was shipped to Thailand in February of last year, while the X9 made its premiere in Hong Kong in May. In March, it began accepting reservations for the X9 in Indonesia, and in the second half of the year, it also intends to introduce the model in Bahrain.

The starting price of the four 2025 X9 models in the Chinese mainland is RMB 359,800, RMB 379,800, RMB 399,800, and RMB 419,800.

It has the same dimensions as its predecessor: 5,293 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, and 1,785 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 3,160 mm.

The newest X9 is powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 94.8 kWh and a CLTC range of 650 kilometers. It is constructed on an 800-volt high-voltage platform.

The model can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 11.7 minutes and supports 5C charging multipliers.

The remaining three models have a CLTC range of 702 to 740 kilometers and are powered by a 105 kWh battery pack. The pack can charge from 10% to 80% in as little as 20 minutes and supports 3C charge multipliers.

Single-motor front-wheel drive vehicles with a maximum motor power of 235 kW and a maximum torque of 450 Nm are the two least costly 2025 X9 models. It takes them 7.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

A rear motor with a maximum power of 135 kW and a maximum torque of 190 Nm is also included in the two more costly models. It takes them 5.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.

In an effort to take on the Alphard, the Toyota model that is now among the most well-known in the MPV market, Xpeng has upgraded the 2025 X9 with a number of comfort features.

Similar to the other Xpeng models that have been on sale in recent months, the 2025 X9 forgoes the LiDAR that its predecessor had in favor of a pure vision smart driving feature.

Turing AI ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is included free of charge with the model.

Additionally, it has rear-wheel steering, which improves driving agility by enabling a minimum turning radius of 5.4 meters.
