Xbox Store Will Soon Accept Rewards Points Directly on Console

Microsoft has added a new feature to its benefits program, allowing Xbox gamers to earn points that can be used for discounts and other benefits.

This new feature, which was mentioned on the official Xbox website as arriving “soon,” would allow users to spend their points directly on their Xbox console when purchasing goods from the Store, such as games and DLC.

Microsoft makes rewards points easier to use on the Xbox console

Microsoft stated, “Spending your points has never been easier. Simply select an item from the Store and utilize your points at checkout.”

Currently, Xbox players must utilize their points on other platforms by converting them into prepaid vouchers, which are often in amounts of $2, $5, or $10 for the Xbox Store. This new technology will make the procedure more easier and quicker.

However, there is a significant constraint. According to the disclaimer, points can only be used for single purchases on the Microsoft Store, excluding subscriptions. This implies that players will not be able to pay for a Game Pass membership directly with points, and will instead have to use the old system.

Currently, Xbox players can earn points by playing games for at least 15 minutes per day, with additional benefits for maintaining a streak. Game Pass subscribers can earn points faster thanks to multipliers, such as 2x for Premium users and 4x for Ultimate users, as well as bonus points for launching games from the Game Pass catalog.

An Ultimate member can earn up to 100,000 points each year, which equates to around $100 in Xbox Store credit.

Microsoft is also working to improve the overall Microsoft Rewards program, which allows customers to earn extra points for utilizing services like Bing on browsers and mobile devices.
