WhatsApp Beta Introduces Remind Me Feature on Android

WhatsApp has started testing a feature that will allow users to create reminders for messages in chats that they have already seen. With the most recent version of WhatsApp for Android, users may select from a variety of settings or define the precise moment at which they want WhatsApp to remind them about a particular message. On iOS and Android, the Meta-owned chat platform already shows prompts to reply to unread messages.

Here’s How it Works

According to the most recent beta version of the chat app, users may now long-press any message, select “Remind Me,” and then choose when they would want to be reminded—for example, in two, eight, or twenty-four hours, or at any other time. A reminder message will have a small bell icon next to it, making it easy to find.

WhatsApp will notify users with the message, the sender, and a brief synopsis of the message when the predetermined time has passed. It’s a smarter version of any other notice. Additionally, WhatsApp wishes to remind you of missed messages. But that’s not all. Additionally, WhatsApp is experimenting with reminders that appear before conversations you could have purposefully missed. Occasionally, the app may alert you to unread messages from users you frequently communicate with. By doing this, you may make up for missed talks without feeling overly occupied. For those who must simultaneously manage family gatherings, business conversations, and private texting, this may be very beneficial.

Notably, WhatsApp for iOS and Android already lets users get reminders for messages they haven’t received, but this new Remind me function might be useful for discussions that have previously been read. After public beta testing, users are anticipated to be able to access it on the stable update channel.
