December 13, 2024 is the new release date for Sony’s “Kraven the Hunter,” which was originally scheduled to debut in August. Premium large formats and IMAX theaters will screen it.
Originally scheduled for May 30, 2025, the film replaces “Karate Kid’s” original release date. After “Cobra Kai’s” sixth and final season premieres on Netflix, it will now have its theatrical debut.
With a highly anticipated Christmas release date available, Sony is promoting “Kraven” as an R-rated choice for the year’s finish.
“Kraven the Hunter,” starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, explores the background of the Marvel villain prior to his well-known grudge against Spider-Man. Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, Alessandro Nivola, and Ariana DeBose also feature.
J.C. Chandor is the director, and Richard Wenk, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway wrote the script and story for the movie. David Householter, Matt Tolmach, and Avi Arad are the producers.

The release date of “Animal Friends” by Legendary Entertainment has likewise been set for August 15, 2025.
