ABOUT JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ’S EXTORTION CASE

Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar was being held in a Delhi jail when he is charged with extorting Rs 215 crore from a businessman’s wife through hoax calls in a single year. Sukesh Chandrashekhar made multiple calls to Aditi Singh, the wife of former Shivendra Singh, owner of Ranbaxy, from prison between June 2020 and May 2021 using voice modulation software and smartphone apps. Under the guise of aiding her husband in getting out of jail, the con artist demanded Rs 215 crore from Aditi while posing as a high-ranking official of the Prime Minister’s Office and the Union Home Minister.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline Fernandez’s intimate picture with the conman surfaced. The pictures were allegedly taken in mid-2021 when Sukesh was out on interim bail. During a questioning by the ED in April 2022, Jacqueline Fernandez admitted that she received several luxury gifts from the conman, including expensive bags, clothes, jewellery, etc, worth Rs 5.71 crore. She also told the ED that Sukesh Chandrashekhar had hired private jets as well as booked helicopter rides for her.

On August 17, 2022, the ED named Jacqueline Fernandez as an accomplice in the Rs 215 crore extortion case. Sources said that Jacqueline was aware that Sukesh Chandrashekhar was an extortionist and she was a beneficiary of the proceeds of the extorted money.
