“The secret of getting ahead is getting started”- Mark Twain.

When it comes to entrepreneurship, being a true blue hustler is what matters the most. One always has to keep their eyes open for new opportunities, and when the time is right, it should be explored and grabbed to the fullest potential to create stones of success.

This sets the cornerstone for the story of the 24-year-old entrepreneur, Momodou Saidykhan, aka, Moddz, who meandered through different paths and finally found his calling. Today he is a successful online entrepreneur who has levelled up the reselling industry with his brand, Elusive, sincere passion and hustle.

Born in  Gambia,  Moddz moved to the UK at the age of 10. Like most people, he also took the conventional path to go to university and explore an interest in science. Moddz pursued a degree in biomedical science from Northumbria University.

Soon he understood that his passion and his current degree were not in sync with each other. Striving to generate income and finding his calling, he started a side hustle of reselling trainers online. Little did he knew this would ignite the passion for turning this side venture into a full-fledged business.

After graduation, Moddz decided to take advantage of his creative ideas and kickstart his entrepreneurial venture by investing his student loan into the business of buying and reselling trainers. Soon enough, his business grew, and he generated revenue of six figures. The mounting success opened new doors for him as he and his brand got featured on ‘BBC Ones Inside Out’ that aired a short film in early 2020, giving Moddz and his venture further recognition.

The next milestone achieved by Moddz was in the first half of 2021, where he received funding from the Pinnacle Group alongside two other individuals, and their collaboration created a multimillion-pound luxury goods marketplace called ‘Elusive’.

The brand  predominantly sells limited-edition trainers such as  Jordans and Yeezys and luxury branded watches. It caters to both men and women and has created a niche in the reselling market due to its ability to acquire trainers from exclusive brands. Elusive has a global purchasing clientele list who buy from the brand in bulk and resell it in their regional markets.

What started as a  £3,000 student loan venture has now been scaled up into a million-pound generating business just in four years. Moddz is a beacon of inspiration for young entrepreneurs who can hustle and be their own bosses with their creative ideas.
