“Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You”: Guestio Founder Travis Chappell’s Story

What made you decide to launch Guestio?

When I first started as a podcaster, I was hustling to get good guests. My show was called Build Your Network, focused on relationship-building and connecting to people who are outside of your sphere of influence. I was practicing what I preached by using my own recommendations to build my network and get better guests. The number one question people kept asking me was, “I know how to podcast and I have good content, but how do I get better guests?” This software is the solution.

Do you have a motto that you live by?

The one I always refer back to is from Steve Martin: “Be so good they can’t ignore you.” Everyone’s afraid of getting lost in the noise. But if you focus on being the best and you combine that with your network, you’ll become the best and everyone will know you. That’s a powerful combination for success.

Do you have any advice for those looking to do what you’ve done?

Get around people who have done what you want to do at the highest level. Having a good network is so important to getting you on the right track. Find the right people, see what you can learn from them, and put in the work.
