Auto Shanghai 2025 Marks the Global Debut of the AUDI Brand’s E5 Sportback

Auto Shanghai 2025 event, SAIC-Audi formally presented the AUDI E5 Sportback, its first production model. As a result of SAIC and Audi working together especially for the Chinese market, this is a major turning point for the new AUDI brand.

Audi E5 Sportback: Specifications

The AUDI E5 has power options ranging from 220kW to a powerful 579kW in the top variant, which, according to AUDI, can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. Each version includes a sturdy 100kWh battery with a maximum range of 770km; however, the testing criteria for this distance have not been made public.

Additionally noteworthy are the charging speeds, which are made possible by an 800-volt architecture that allows for ultra-fast charging (370km range in 10 minutes).

AUDI E5 Sportback: Features and Cabin

The cabin’s interior combines high-end amenities with cutting-edge technology. Highlights include a 27-inch curved 4K screen that divides the infotainment system and digital cluster, ambient lighting, headrests with integrated speakers, and a scent diffuser. There are also wireless phone chargers with 50W power and cooling, as well as voice and touch control integration.

In 2026 and 2027, AUDI plans to launch two more electric cars after the E5 Sportback. Like the E5, these vehicles are probably going to stay exclusive to China.

Audi E5 Sportback: Design and Dimensions

The five-door Audi E5 Sportback, which has dimensions of 4881 mm in length and 1995 mm in width, is positioned squarely in the executive sedan market.
