2025 Grammy Awards, Beyoncé Breaks Record by Winning Best Country Album

Grammy Awards 2025: Beyoncé’s record-breaking journey reached a new milestone when she became the first Black woman to win Best Country Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Sunday, February 2, saw Beyoncé, who was already the most-awarded Grammy artist in history (a record she set in 2023 with her album Renaissance), break yet another one. During the 2025 ceremony, she received two more prizes, increasing her total to 34, according to the report.

Taylor Swift, a fellow artist, presented the award to Beyoncé during the ceremony. While accepting, Beyoncé expressed her gratitude, saying, “I was not expecting this. I want to thank God that I’m able to still do what I love after so many years, oh, my God! I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this, this album we worked so hard on… I think sometimes genre is a cold word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just want to encourage people to do what they’re passionate about and stay persistent.”

The March 2024 release of Cowboy Carter was a turning point for both Beyoncé and Black country music musicians. Beyoncé won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for II Most Wanted with Miley Cyrus, in addition to Best Country Album.

Album of the Year and Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter, Best Country Song for “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Best Country Solo Performance for “16 Carriages,” and Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus were among the 11 Grammy nominations that Beyoncé led with at the 2025 ceremony. In addition to these, she was nominated in the pop categories with Levii’s Jeans and Bodyguard, Americana with “Ya Ya,” and melodic rap with Spaghettii.
