WhatsApp Introduces the ‘Voice Chat’ Feature in Groups Chats

WhatsApp Voice ChatWhatsApp Voice Chat

WhatsApp’s voice chat feature has been extended to accommodate groups of all sizes, enabling users to communicate via live audio without having to exit the group chat or make a regular phone call. Previously limited to large organizations, this feature is now being made available to groups of all sizes.

The goal of the feature is to give groups a more relaxed, adaptable approach to keep in touch in real time without interfering with discussions or needing everyone to join right once.

Live Audio Chat does not call every group member, in contrast to regular calls. Instead, a discreet push notice is sent to members as soon as a session begins. To indicate to others that you are available and prepared to speak, you can also send a wave emoji.

How to start a voice chat on WhatsApp

  • Open the group chat in which you wish to converse.
  • From the bottom of the screen, swipe up and hold for a moment.
  • Group members will be informed when a Live Audio Chat session starts.
  • The chat is completely flexible and anyone can join or exit at any time.

These voice chats are automatically encrypted from beginning to end, just like other WhatsApp communications, upholding the app’s strict privacy guidelines.
