THE ARCHITECT OF ATTENTION: AHSAN TAHIR’S VISION FOR MODERN MEDIA AND INFLUENCE

Muhammad Ahsan Tahir is quietly reshaping how attention, influence, and narrative flow through digital platforms in South Asia and the Gulf. As the CEO and Co-Founder of Walee Group, he leads a cross-sector operation that includes influencer marketing, content streaming, and media infrastructure, serving both public and private sector clients across Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.

Tahir’s work is grounded in a clear premise: attention is a powerful resource, and the systems that govern it shape society. While many digital entrepreneurs focus on scale or monetization, his approach centers on design, engineering media platforms that are both culturally relevant and structurally sound.

His journey began in software engineering, graduating from NUST in Islamabad before taking on roles at firms like Alcatel-Lucent and Ovex Technologies. But early in his career, he became more interested in how people behaved online than how systems were built. That interest evolved into a deeper inquiry into narrative design, and eventually into the formation of Walee.

Originally launched as a creator economy platform, Walee has grown into a technology and media group operating across MENAP. It offers tools for influencer discovery, campaign execution, media rights management, and digital storytelling. Today, its platforms are used to power marketing initiatives, content delivery, and civic communication in multiple countries.

In 2022, Walee acquired the UAE-based Mirrorr.com, an AI-driven influencer marketing solution. This allowed the company to expand its backend analytics and campaign delivery capabilities across Gulf markets. The acquisition also reinforced Tahir’s long-term strategy of using regional platforms, not imported models, to shape the flow of influence.

One of his most high-profile projects came in 2024, when Walee assumed operational control of SnackVideo in Pakistan. The short-form video app had previously struggled with content moderation and cultural fit. Under Tahir’s leadership, the platform adapted to regional sensitivities and restructured its governance model. The partnership marked a shift toward responsible content systems that still support creator growth.

That same year, Walee launched a dedicated streaming network for the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL X). With over 75 million users, it became the most-watched digital edition in the tournament’s history. The platform managed live content distribution at national scale, an achievement that drew attention to Tahir’s capacity to execute high-traffic, infrastructure-heavy digital projects.

These successes weren’t isolated. Walee has supported government initiatives, regional sporting events, and platform-level partnerships that touch millions of users. Tahir’s role is often behind the scenes, but the systems he helps build shape what people see, share, and believe online.

Outside of commercial operations, Tahir contributes to broader conversations on strategic communications and disinformation resilience. He has participated in national workshops and policy forums, advocating for more ethically governed media ecosystems in the digital age.

He’s also been recognized as a subject-matter expert on Qwoted, where his insights focus on the creator economy, AI-driven media tools, and the regional attention economy. Walee’s work was honored with the Best Digital Innovation award at the 2023 Pakistan Digital Awards, further validating the company’s unique positioning.

What sets Tahir apart is his emphasis on durable systems over fleeting visibility. His platforms are not designed just to go viral, they are designed to last, scale, and evolve. In an era defined by distraction, Ahsan Tahir is proving that the architecture of attention can still be built with intention.
