Globally Acclaimed Series Returns with New Mexico Episodes Highlighting Social Impact and Cultural Storytelling.
Los Angeles, USA – YMK Films proudly announces the continued expansion of the critically acclaimed Prayer International Series. The next installment, Prayer Guadalajara (Episode 24), is currently in development, as the series deepens its global journey through themes of faith, resilience, and cultural identity.
The first Mexico-based episode, Prayer Monterrey, premiered on YouTube just one month ago. Following its emotional and visually striking storytelling, creator Young Man Kang is eager to produce more episodes in Mexico. YMK Films is excited to reveal three upcoming episodes currently in pre-production:
- Prayer Guadalajara (Episode 24)
- Prayer La Palma (Episode 25)
- Prayer Sahuayo (Episode 26)
Filming begins in the first week of August in Mexico.
Prayer Guadalajara is inspired by the true story of Marcela Solana, also known as MARCH—a Guadalajara-born writer and visual artist (b. 1988). Her autobiographical book Entrégala a la bestia (Give Her to the Beast) chronicles her harrowing experience with black magic, spiritual trauma, and ultimately, healing.
“It is a story of survival. A story of patience, understanding, and forgiveness. At a time when her physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual strength was almost nonexistent—when her light seemed ready to go out—a microscopic grain of faith sustained her. That ember of belief carried her through the darkness, allowing her to rise again, renewed in faith and peace.”
This profound journey of transformation forms the emotional core of Prayer Guadalajara.
Prayer La Palma centers around the family story of Alma Castañeda, a Mexican-American actor and producer. Set in her hometown of La Palma, this episode reflects on a sacred rock believed to bear the image of Jesus, continuing the series’ meditation on faith, ancestry, and personal transformation.
Prayer Sahuayo delves into mystical legends involving Jesus and the Virgin Mary and culminates with Sahuayo’s renowned August festival—one of Mexico’s largest and most colorful religious celebrations.
Since its launch, the Prayer International Series has shared spiritual and socially resonant stories from over 23 cities across four continents—including Istanbul, Rome, Seoul, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and Montreal. Filmed entirely on mobile phones in a vertical format, the series challenges creative norms while remaining intimate and authentic. It has garnered multiple awards and nominations from international film festivals.
“The series’ commitment to inclusivity, local collaboration, and spiritual storytelling makes it a compelling and relevant project for today’s global audience,” says creator Young Man Kang.
As it grows, the Prayer International Series continues to serve as a global anthology of spiritual reflection—bringing forth emotionally powerful, socially conscious stories that speak to our shared human quest for meaning, healing, and connection.
The full episode of Prayer Guadalajara will be available soon on the Prayer International Series YouTube channel.
