On Tuesday, October 7, “Ozzy: No Escape From Now,” a new documentary that follows rock and roll icon Ozzy Osbourne’s last four years of life, will be released. Rocker fans and those interested about his life story can watch it on Paramount+.
Tania Alexander directed and Sharon Osbourne produced “No Escape From Now,” which was never intended to be a posthumous homage to Ozzy. As the singer-songwriter struggled Parkinson’s disease, pneumonia, sepsis, a broken neck, and other ailments, the project was documenting his final years until he passed on July 22.
The documentary, which lasts two hours, offers a close-up look at Ozzy’s turbulent last years as he tried to pursue his passions in spite of physical limitations. The film shows how the rocker’s unwavering spirit inspired him to produce the albums “Ordinary Man” in 2020 and “Patient Number 9” in 2022, to perform at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in 2022 and his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, and to give his powerful “Back To The Beginning” final performance with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham sixteen days prior to his death.
“No Escape From Now” includes interviews with fellow rock stars Zakk Wylde, Andrew Watt, Billy Morrison, Billy Idol, Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Duff McKagan and Slash of Guns N’ Roses, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and James Hetfield, Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, Alice In Chains’ Mike Inez, and Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins. The film also includes exclusive footage of Ozzy and his family.
