Jorge Campillo wins the Kenya Open by two shots

With a 5-under 66 on Sunday, Jorge Campillo maintained his overnight lead to win the DP World Tour’s Kenya Open by 2 shots.

In the final round at Muthaiga Golf Club, the Spaniard made six birdies and lost only one shot to finish 18 under overall and remain ahead of Masahiro Kawamura of Japan.

Campillo won his first tour title since the 2020 Qatar Masters. It was his third tour title.

“I will try and enjoy my moment now and get ready for the next tournament,” Campillo said. “Because you know how golf is. You win now and then the next day you are not that good anymore.”

Kawamura finished second on 16 under par with a 66 as well.

Ryo Hisatsune (65) and Santiago Tarrio (66) are tied for third, three shots behind Campillo.

With five birdies in his first ten holes, Campillo avoided the chasers and started the final round one shot ahead.

He made an intruder on No. 11 But no one took advantage of it because it was his only error. Campillo had the advantage of a 3-shot lead when he teed it up on the last opening. There, he confirmed his victory with a par.
