Japan’s most recent E10 high-speed trains will be used in India’s first bullet train project. The 508-kilometer Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is the first example of the E10 Shinkansen trains that the Japanese government has consented to bring to India.
It is anticipated that the E10 series of bullet trains will be utilized on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor concurrently with its 2030 debut in Japan. E10 trains are expected to be the next generation of trains to travel on the Japanese Shinkansen, which currently uses E5 trains.
According to reports, Japanese Shinkansen technology is being used to create the entire 508-kilometer track. The report states that construction is complete on 15 river crossings and that work is advanced on four bridges.
Japan’s E10 Bullet Trains For India
The E10 is the following generation of the E5 trains that are currently in service on the Japanese Shinkansen. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed corridor will be home to the newest Japanese trains.
The Japanese government has consented to include E10 Shinkansen trains in the project as part of the strategic relationship between India and Japan.
Recently, the bullet train project completed 310 km of viaduct construction, marking a significant milestone.
While the first prototype of India’s first bullet train project is anticipated to start operations in 2026, commercial services are set to start in 2027.
