Honor just unveiled their newest flip phone, the Honor Magic V Flip2, at a Chinese event. With a larger battery, faster charging options, and a more sophisticated camera system, the new model is positioned as the straight replacement of the Magic V Flip from the previous year.

Camera
A 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP front camera, and a 200MP primary camera with EIS+OIS are all included. Additionally, the camera system incorporates the AI Honor Image Engine, which offers a variety of AI Edit capabilities such as AI Passers-by Eraser, AI Cutout, and AI Upscale, as well as AI Super Zoom for 30x telephoto shooting.
Battery and Charging
The most significant improvement is the switch to a 5,500mAh battery, which is a significant boost over the 4,310mAh cell found in the first-generation gadget. With 80W cable charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging, Honour gives customers a variety of powering options.
Design and Durability
Despite having a larger battery, the phone weighs only 193 g. Its thickness when unfurled is only 6.9 mm. In addition, Honour has rated the gadget IP58 and IP59 for water and dust resistance, and a fingerprint scanner situated on the side handles security.
Cover Screen and User Interaction
The phone’s 4-inch 0.1-120Hz LTPO OLED external screen offers a high-frequency PWM dimming of 3840Hz, a maximum brightness of 3600 nits, and no external screen border.
A customized theme with nine animated critters that react to air motions is one of the new interactive elements on the Magic V Flip2’s cover screen. Additional interaction with the virtual pets is possible by tapping the screen. Additionally, the cover screen has a number of AI-powered capabilities, including Magic Capsule, AI Interpreter, and one-click Smart Reply.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC powers the phone, which has up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. The Energy Efficiency Enhancement Chip E2 and the RF Enhancement Chip C1+ are available.
Pricing and Availability
The 12GB + 256GB edition of the Magic V Flip 2 is priced at CNY 5,499, or around Rs. 66,900. CNY 5,999 for 12GB + 512GB, CNY 6,499 for 12GB + 1TB, and CNY 7,499 (about Rs. 91,300) for the top-tier 16GB + 1TB are other options. Titanium Air Grey, Moon Shadow White, Dream Weaver Blue, and Dawn Purple are the colors available to buyers. China is now accepting preorders, with open sales beginning August 28.
