Google NotebookLM, AI-powered note-taking app, you can now share your notebooks with students, coworkers, or classmates by providing a public link. The function is comparable to the sharing tool on Google Docs and Slides, but the tech giant with headquarters in Mountain View hasn’t included a way for users to modify the notebooks. They can still converse with the AI and engage with the information.
With the use of the app, you can better comprehend content from a range of sources, including notes, papers, presentation slides, and even YouTube videos. AI-generated content summaries, AI podcast-style conversations, “chat” with you about the information, and more are all possible with this tool.
However, this approach might not be effective if a user wishes to share the notebook with a big number of individuals. This issue is resolved with the new public sharing feature. Beside the Settings button in the upper right corner of the page, the business has placed a new Share button. This button functions similarly to other Google web apps, as was already described.
A pop-up box will show up when a user touches the Share button. There is now a new “Notebook Access” option at the bottom of the box. Users have the option to change it from its default setting of “Restricted” to “Anyone with a link.” Once the access has been changed, the URL can be copied by clicking the “Copy link” button at the bottom.
After that, this link can be distributed via messaging applications, social networking sites, or emails. Journalists, researchers, professionals, teachers, and students can all benefit from this simple method of sharing notes.
Viewers of the notebook can read the frequently asked questions (FAQs), listen to the AI podcasts (audio summaries), review the briefing documents, and even have a conversation with the chatbot to get additional information about the notes. Notably, NotebookLM’s iOS and Android apps do not presently provide notebook sharing with the general public.
