Changing the game of the automotive industry for the better – meet an ace entrepreneur Mohsin Hani Al Bahrani.

As one of the youngest CEOs of the MHD ACERE in the Sultanate of Oman, he talks about a few drivers for renewable energy in the industry.

The closer we look around us, the more we realize how different business industries and sectors have been changing for the better. These changes are not just the result of the changing times and adoption of various technological advances across industries, but most importantly of the relentless drive and endless efforts of young professionals and entrepreneurs, who always strive to do something different through their work, offering value to people. Many new talents have been on the rise for the last few years, but some of them have totally astounded the world with their immaculate visions and determination. One name that tops the list of such high-performing entrepreneurs is Mohsin Hani Al Bahrani, who has come at the forefront of the business world in the Sultanate of Oman.

This young business personality and one of the youngest CEOs across the Middle East spearheads the Automotive, Construction Equipment & Renewable Energy (ACERE) cluster of Mohsin Haider Darwish Group, which is currently the sole distributor of reputed brands like Jaguar, Land Rover, McLaren, Volvo, MG Motor, Ashok Leyland, Ford Trucks, Michelin, ABB and so many others in Oman.

Talking about renewable energy in the automotive sector, Mohsin says the world is noticing a shift in the energy buying landscape. People also see an interest in clean energy procurement pop up across industries from mining to manufacturing as a result of several motivators, and one of these participants in the long-term renewable energy marketplace is the automotive sector.

There are a few drivers in renewable energy in the automotive industry that Mohsin highlights.

• Decentralized operations: Having widely dispersed facilities across various electricity grid regions is a complete no-no, but with decentralized operations, companies can reduce emissions on a large scale. According to Mohsin, renewable power purchase agreements (PPAs) serve as the best solution for the automotive industry. He believes these are instruments that can help organizations reduce operational emissions.
• High reputation: Mohsin believes that customers are the most important stakeholders in the automotive industry. It is a customer-facing industry and all the efforts that support sustainability always get noticed. Renewable PPAs are an efficient, effective and transparent way for automotive companies to gain a great customer reputation and also serve as a proactive leader for climate change.

Mohsin Hami Al-Bahrani is also considered the champion of Omanization within his organization, ensuring that the company provides the right jobs for the right people with a streamlined hiring process. Even in the pandemic phase, he has gained the market’s trust and enhanced the growth of MHD ACERE’s business and activities.

He looks unstoppable in his quest to grow sustainable business practices, which he thinks is the need of the hour. This led him to establish the Renewable Energy and Electric Vehicles Division, which is the first of its kind in Oman, to drive technological innovation powered by clean energy.
