Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is all set for #HarGharTiranga; PM Modi sets Tiranga On profile picture

‘Har Ghar Tiranga` is a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India`s independence. 

 Prime Minister Tiranga on Tuesday changed his profile picture on his social media handles to ‘Tiranga’ ahead of Independence Day celebrations in the country. “It is a special 2nd August today! At a time when we are marking Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, our nation is all set for #HarGharTiranga, a collective movement to celebrate our Tricolour. I have changed the DP on my social media pages and urge you all to do the same,” PM Modi tweeted. 

In order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, PM Modi had on Sunday urged all citizens to make the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign into a widespread movement by hoisting or displaying the national flag at their residences and using the “tiranga” as their profile picture on social media between August 2 and August 15.

“From August 13 through August 15, a special movement called “Har Ghar Tiranga” is being planned as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The National Flag should be raised at our houses, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, said on Sunday during the monthly radio programm “Mann Ki Baat.”

Pingli Venkhaiya, the person who created the national flag, was born on August 2. Between August 2 and August 15, I implore everyone to use “Tiranga” as their profile photo on social media “he stated.

Addressing the 91st edition of the monthly radio programme, Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Modi stated that India is set to witness a glorious and historic moment as it completes 75 years of Independence.

“My dear countrymen, today we started our discussion on 75 years of Independence, with a visit across the country. The next time we meet, the journey of our next 25 years would have already begun. We all have to join for our beloved Tricolour to be hoisted at our homes and those of our loved ones. Do share with me how you celebrated Independence Day, if you did anything special, this time. Next time, we will talk again about the different colours of our Amrit Parv. Till then, I take leave of you. Thank you very much,” said PM Modi.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
