“Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” from Marvel Studios have announced a delay in their release which means “Avengers” fans will have to wait a little longer.

Among the huge productions and eagerly anticipated projects for Marvel Studios are “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars,” which will also feature Robert Downey Jr.’s return as Doctor Doom.

Additionally, the film will feature superhero teams from “Thunderbolts*,” “Fantastic 4: First Steps,” and even re-appearances of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen from the “X-Men” franchise.

Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars New Release Dates

The original release date of Avengers: Doomsday was set for May 1, 2026. Stars like Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Vanessa Kirby (Susan Storm), and others are expected to appear in the movie. However, it will now be released on December 18, 2026, after a seven-month delay. Avengers: Secret Wars, the sequel, will now be released on December 17, 2027 instead of May 7, 2027. Aiming for a greater and more widespread reaction, the initial plan was abandoned to allow the films to coincide with the December holiday schedule.

The upcoming Tom Holland Spider-Man film is set for release on July 31, 2026, followed by The Fantastic Four: First Steps on July 25, 2025.
