An Entrepreneur at the Intersection of Media and Emerging Technology: The Story of Oded Napchi

In the dynamic landscape of digital innovation, Oded Napchi has built a career spanning broadcast media, mobile connectivity, programmatic advertising, and immersive platforms.

Napchi started his career as one of the founders and general manager of one of the most popular radio stations in his region. He then moved into television, serving as a producer, cable programming executive, and showrunner. He also co-founded one of the first children’s television channels. These positions provided him with practical experience in audience engagement, narrative structure, and content distribution.

Later in his career, he completed an M.A. at Tel Aviv University focused on innovation adoption, adding academic depth to his extensive practical experience.

In 1999, he co-founded Valis, a mobile internet startup, together with his brother Ariel Napchi and partner Roni Golan. The company developed location-based community services that attracted attention from major telecommunications companies, securing partnerships with Vodafone and Orange. Valis was acquired in 2003.

Valis represented Napchi’s first significant step from media production into the technology sector. As mobile capabilities rapidly developed throughout the early 2000s, Valis positioned itself as part of the broader movement that would lay the groundwork for mobile internet adoption.

He later co-founded HIRO Media in 2005 with the same partners, serving as co-founder and CMO, and building the company into a leader in video advertising technology. As co-founder and CMO, Napchi was instrumental in creating infrastructure for video distribution and monetization. Under its leadership team, HIRO appeared twice on the Deloitte Fast 500 EMEA list before being sold in 2020. Napchi has 4 registered patents related to real-time ad monitoring technology developed at HIRO Media.

Throughout his career, Napchi has been part of public discussions on media technology, advertising, and the future of digital platforms. His commentary has appeared in MediaPost, ExchangeWire, and MarTechSeries. At MediaPost, he shared insights on smart TV platform development and monetization models. At ExchangeWire, he discussed video advertising quality and industry trends. At MarTechSeries, he offered perspectives on advertising fraud, supply path optimization (SPO), ads.txt adoption, and the increasing influence of Amazon in the advertising market.

He currently leads Althimis, an AI-driven training, simulation, and mission-planning platform for defense and unmanned systems. The company also operates Meetaverse, its product line providing 3D-immersive environments for virtual events, training, and collaboration.

Meetaverse builds virtual environments for sales pitches, corporate training, webinars, and large-scale organizational events. The platform reflects industry evolution toward digital innovation, backed by improvements in 3D visualization and the increasing demand for remote and hybrid collaboration tools.

As CEO of Althimis, Napchi works with organizations to navigate technology-based advancement, develop strategies, and discover new methods for content distribution and product development.

His success and wide range of expertise show how cross-disciplinary experience—from media production to philosophical analysis to technology strategy—can contribute to the development of new digital tools and platforms.
