SAFF U-17 Championship 2025: Complete Schedule Revealed

SAFF U-17 Championship schedule has been released by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). This year’s tournament will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from September 15–27.

India and Pakistan have been recruited to the same group of seven nations that have been split into two groups for the tournament’s tenth edition.

SAFF U-17 Championship Groups:

Group A: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal

Group B: Bhutan, India, Pakistan, and the Maldives

The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals, and each group’s teams will play each other once in a round-robin format.

Single-leg elimination matches will be played following the group stage, with extra time and a penalty shootout in case of a draw after regulation time.

All tournament matches will take place at the Racecourse International Stadium, with host Sri Lanka playing Nepal in the first match.

Knockouts

Semifinal 1: September 25 – 3:00 pm – Winner of Group A vs Runner-up of Group B
Semifinal 2: September 25 – 7:30 pm – Winner of Group B vs Runner-up of Group A
Final: September 27 – 6:00 pm — Winner of Semifinal 1 vs Winner of Semifinal 2

India’s campaign will begin against the Maldives, the reigning champion. In the last tournament, which took place in Bhutan in September of last year, the Blue Colts defeated Bangladesh 2-0 thanks to goals from Mohammed Kaif and Mohammed Arbash.

With six championships, India is also the most successful team in the competition.
