The M5 sports sedan has been introduced in India by BMW India. The ex-showroom price of the 2025 BMW M5 is 1.99 crore, and it will be delivered to India as a fully built-up unit (CBU). The new plug-in hybrid V8 engine, which produces 717 horsepower, is the main attraction of the 2025 BMW M5, which is supported by a completely new platform.

Compared to the conventional 5 Series, the 2025 BMW M5 has a far more aggressive design language. The sides have been modified for a more intimidating appearance, and the bumpers have been strengthened with a lip spoiler at the front. Additionally, the variant has a 48 mm rear and 76 mm front width. It has a distinctive appearance thanks to the rear sports quad exhaust tips. The vehicle has 20-inch front wheels and 21-inch rear wheels with high-performance tires mounted on M light alloy wheels.
Engine of the 2025 BMW M5
The 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which has been electrified and is mated to an 8-speed automated transmission, is still present in the 2025 BMW M5. The M5’s V8 engine generates 577 horsepower, with an additional 196 horsepower coming from the electric motor, which is a hybrid system borrowed from the premium BMW XM. The hybrid powertrain produces a maximum torque of 1,001 Nm and 717 horsepower. BMW’s xDrive technology supplies power to all four wheels while maintaining a rear-biased configuration for a dynamic driving.
The M5, which currently weighs 2.4 tonnes, has gained 500 kg since the hybrid system was introduced. The option to increase the peak speed to 305 kmph is added with the M Driver’s package. The M5 has an electric top speed of 140 kmph and a pure electric range of 67-69 km WLTP thanks to its 18.6 kWh battery pack. A 7.4 kW charger can be used to charge the battery.

For increased stability, a five-link axle at the rear has guide arms, camber control arms, and strengthened control arms. A double-wishbone axle up front is designed with more stiffness and M5-specific hubs to more effectively manage the substantially higher power output. For improved handling dynamics, the chassis receives stronger mounting for important components, underfloor reinforcement, and extra strut tower bracing. The driver may precisely adjust the electrically controlled dampers in the standard BMW Adaptive M suspension for a customized ride.
BMW M5 2025: Features
Its interior features include a high-end Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system, M multifunction seats, and a recently updated M leather steering wheel. The BMW Operating System 8.5 powers the curved touchscreen infotainment display, which has QuickSelect navigation improved by augmented reality and cloud-based mapping. In the meantime, the M Drive Professional offers track-ready features including Boost Control for the best power delivery and a M Laptimer.
Regarding safety, the M5 has a wide array of technologies. Parking Assistant Plus, which comes with a Surround View Camera and Reversing Assistant, is a standard feature. Airbags, ABS, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and Parking Assistant Plus, which includes a Surround View Camera and Reversing Assistant, are standard equipment. The optional Driving Assistant Professional, which comes with features like Active Cruise Control, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, and Cross Traffic Warning, allows for improved semi-autonomous driving.
